The focus of John Yeats’ life is making others successful in life and ministry. His creativity, leadership, writing, wisdom coupled with his passion for the Lord Jesus permeate his life and ministry. His personal life experiences and studies have sharpened his skills for the purpose of helping people and organizations understand their value for God’s purposes.
Dr. John Yeats has a legacy of leadership, oversight, strategic planning, integrity, gospel engagement and a solid biblical world-view.
His ministry experiences include Executive Director of the Missouri Baptist Convention (2011-2024), comprised of 1650+ cooperating churches. For twenty-five years (1997-2022), he served as one of the five elected officers of the Southern Baptist Convention and member of the SBC Executive Committee.
He has experience in corporate communications, newspaper publishing, public policy and pastoral leadership. Prior to his ministry with state conventions, he served 20 years as pastor. He has led 12 multi-staff churches through effective interim pastorates.
People who spend any time around John sense his contagious enthusiasm for a purposeful, passionate life. He and Sharon have traveled in many areas of the world encouraging and training hundreds of leaders in churches and church-related institutions to become more effective in their ministry environment.
John and Sharon have a strong marriage of 54 years and three sons that honor the Lord and their families.
